This F-4C Was last assigned to the Oregon National Guard and was flown to Seymour Johnson in 1987 for display. It was hoisted onto its pedastal in front of the 4th CSG HQ 8 April 89.
Former TAC commander, Gen Robert D. Russ is known to have flown the jet when he was a major in the 12 TFW at Cam Ranh Bay AB from July 67 to Jan 68. Gen Russ flew 242 combat missions, including 50 over North Vietnam.
